With Open CAD Manager, CAD files are stored and managed consistently across the enterprise just like other file formats. Information from a title block or properties can be automatically mapped to index fields in the document management system.
The automated link management with collision control avoids redundant storage of CAD files. Version management with change history ensures that all desired intermediate development stages are saved and can be restored.
Platform-related or universal viewers such as TrueView, Rasterex, or eDrawings show the complete drawing and allow redlining, comparing, and plotting without a CAD application.
Open CAD Manager offers a convenient way to e-mail drawings as zip archives including all necessary references via the connected e-mail client. Drawing lists and dispatch protocols are automatically generated and inserted into the e-mail.
Open CAD-Manager optionally provides integrated workflow functionality. Standard processes of team and group work such as drawing approval and substitution rules for product developments are mapped in the system; they can also be guided through the workflow module of the ECM system. A standard interface is provided for the mapping of complex workflows.
The application program interfacing (API) enables customizing and connection to ERP systems. Parts lists and where-used lists are generated, which can be automatically transferred to an ERP system such as SAP® or Navision®.
Open CAD-Manager is capable of bidirectional comparison of the characteristics (attributes) between the CAD manager and the CAD application. The configuration of the supported CAD programs is carried out using uniformly structured profiles.
